As the lead Project Researcher at Wenzhou University, I developed and executed a data-driven expansion strategy to identify viable international campus locations. Using a funnel-based methodology, I converted exploratory goals into actionable insights, leading to the successful establishment of campuses in Italy and the United Kingdom. This project expanded the university’s global presence and earned me a full scholarship for strategic contribution.
The Proposal
Wenzhou University sought to enhance its global presence and attract a more diverse international student body, but lacked a data-backed framework to evaluate expansion opportunities. The primary business problem was mitigating the high risk and resource investment associated with international campus establishment. Leadership needed a clear, objective process to move from a wide pool of potential countries to a shortlist of operationally feasible and strategically advantageous locations.
Through systematic research and scoring of 15+ potential regions across Europe and Asia, we can identify a minimum of 3 cities that meet stringent viability criteria, enabling the university to pursue formal partnerships with a high confidence of success within 18 months.
